Twitter/X Video Downloader Not Working? Common Fixes
Most "downloader not working" problems come down to one of a handful of specific causes — here's how to tell which one you're hitting, and what actually fixes it.
"That doesn't look like a valid link"
The most common cause: the link isn't actually pointing at a single post. A profile link (x.com/username), a search results page, or a link to your home timeline won't work — the tool needs a link to one specific post, which looks like x.com/username/status/1234567890.
Fix: open the post itself, tap the Share icon, and choose Copy Link. That guarantees you get the right format.
"That post doesn't have a video"
Sometimes a post genuinely doesn't contain a video — it might be a photo, a poll, or plain text, even if it looked like it had video-style content in your feed (quote-tweets with an embedded video from a different post are a common source of confusion here).
Fix: open the original post directly and confirm the video plays right there on X before pasting the link.
Nothing happens when you click Download
A few genuine causes, roughly in order of how often they're the actual problem:
- An ad blocker or privacy extension is interfering. Most are fine, but some aggressively block anything that looks like a tracking pixel or third-party request — try disabling it for this one site and reloading.
- A stale page. If you've had the tab open a long time, a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R / Cmd+Shift+R) clears out anything that got stuck.

The post existed but got deleted
If a post was deleted, edited, or the account was suspended between when you first saw it and when you tried to download it, there's nothing left to resolve — the video only ever lived on X's own servers, and once X removes it, no downloader tool has a copy sitting around either.
