Get the SaveNowX Extension
Skip the copy-paste entirely — a download button appears directly on any video while you browse X. This is a manual install for now; a one-click Chrome Web Store version is on the way.

Click the button below to download a small .zip file.
Unzip it
Right-click the downloaded file and choose “Extract All” (Windows) or double-click it (Mac) to get a regular folder.
Open your browser's extensions page
Chrome, Edge, or Brave all work. Type chrome://extensions into your address bar and press Enter.
Turn on Developer mode
There's a toggle for this, usually in the top-right corner of the extensions page.
Click “Load unpacked”
A file picker opens — select the folder you unzipped in step 2 (the one containing manifest.json).
Done
Open any X post with a video — a pink download bar appears right on the video.
Firefox and Safari aren't supported by this manual method — both need their own packaging format. Chrome, Edge, and Brave (and most other Chromium-based browsers) all work the same way described above.
